T R I O

TRIO was born from my love of loose improvisation and the many standards that shape my musical world - jazz, pop, folk, balkan and more. TRIO explores all of these influences in a playful environment, creating spontaneous trialogue around any and all of these subjects. The ensuing music is immediate, communicative, sophisticated and utterly fun. Each TRIO show is unique, being based upon my mood and thoughts at the moment. Although the group has some basic repertoire, it is always in flux. New arrangements and repertoire are added during the show, with noting but our ears to guide the way.

TRIO draws upon a variety of musicians, mostly Mike Savino on bass and John Hadfield on drums, but in the past has also included many others like bassists Fumi Tomita, Dave Amborsio, Bob Sabin and Dave Hertzberg, and drummers Brad Wentworth, Scott Kettner and Chris Higginbottom.

TRIO recently went in to the studio, in an attempt to capture the unique loose texture on recording. MP3's will be posted soon, so check back. (I know this has been on for a while, but I'll get to it soon).
